New turbine helicopters for sale #TurbineHelicopter Part2
#4 Bell 407GXi – Turbine helicopter for sale
The Bell 407 was developed from the Bell 206L series, replacing the teetering rotor-head with a full articulated system allowing for much greater speed and handling. The latest variant being the 407GXi introduces the dual FADEC Rolls-Royce M250-C47E/4 power plant producing 862shp, with a 3,500 hour TBO and a Garmin G1000H glass cockpit.
The legacy of the 407 is as a VIP / corporate passenger aircraft with its 5 place club seating in the cabin, for the most part it will continue to compete strongly against the light-twin helicopters in the market, however the GXi has become a real contender in the commercial utility market with exceptional hot and high performance it holds its own against the utility workhorse Airbus H125.
#5 Airbus H125 – Turbine helicopter for sale
The Airbus H125 is the result of the companies rebranding in 2015, with the naming convention taking over the most recent variant of the Eurocopter AS350 (aka Squirrel or AStar) being the AS350 B3e. The H125 has for many years been the undisputed light utility helicopter with the best power to weigh ratio and hot-high performance in its class, famously demonstrating 3 touch downs on the summit of Mount Everest in 2005.
The H125 is equipped with the FADEC Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine producing 951shp and a 4,000 hour TBO reducing the direct operating cost. The cockpit is equipped with the Garmin G500 & engine multifunction display.
The H125 is perhaps the most versatile aircraft in the single engine helicopter market, although the purchase price and operating costs are proportionate to its high performance. The H125 is used in law enforcement, SAR, EMS, high mountain rescue, VIP / corporate travel, tourism, news gathering, aerial firefighting, you name it.
#6 Airbus H130 – Turbine helicopter for sale
The Airbus H130 is the result of the companies rebranding in 2015, with the naming convention taking over the most recent variant of the Eurocopter EC130 T2. The H130 is an eye-catching design with the inclusion of the fenestron tail-rotor which also dramatically reducing the aircrafts noise footprint.
The H130 is equipped with the same FADEC Turbomeca Arriel 2D engine from the H125. The cockpit is equipped standard with the Garmin G500 & engine multifunction display.
Operators who can afford the capital outlay required to purchase an H130 at approximately $3m, the payback will be worth it. As a private / VIP / corporate helicopter there are few that match the ramp presence of the H130 and with various cabin configurations up to 7 passengers and great visibility, the aircraft is a highly effective tourism machine. Despite the same power plant and more seats, the H130 has a slightly lower useful load, hence for an extra $400k you will rarely see the H130 as a utility helicopter.
